Consequneces

Wow. Two years. The more things change, except this time the change has been for the worse.

More hate. More discrimination. More chaos. All brought to you by the man inaugurated in 2017. Top that off with a new virus that wasn't handled well where it first broke out, got loose into the world, and add frosting as our White House Occupant called it hoax then did everything he could to block remedial measures. The nation is a mess, and nearly half our population, at least, are shown to be lazy, selfish, undisciplined, hateful, assholes. I am not exaggerating.

I can't hike much since the trails here are flooded with people. It's the only thing folk can do that is cheap...so many being out of work...and accessible, when most places are still closed or highly limited.

And, yes, there's more, because too many states opened way too early, the damned virus has made a massive resurgence...even here it is ticking upward again. No vaccine until next year at the earliest, like as not, and even then, it isn't going to be made widely available to the public for some time, and even *then* it won't be free.

I do not see a bright future for this nation even if we get rid of the instigator of all of this. He is still causing havoc, destroying laws and traditions, wrecking the infrastructure of our government.

He has rolled back nearly all of our environmental protections.

Single-handed destruction across the board, and he boasts he takes no responsibility for any of it.

I still find it hard to believe that people voted that idiot into office. It was known who and what he was before ever he ran. Fools, we.

So, in January I began self-isolation and masking. As soon as word came that the virus had escaped the country of origin, I started in. I remain in self-isolation the screaming majority of the time. I still mask when I go out unless there is no one within fifty meters or so.

I do not foresee changes to this until next year at earliest.

Consequences.
